As of 2015, dental procedure codes are available for purchase online through the American Dental Association, according to the Indiana Dental Association. When purchasing dental procedure codes through the American Dental Association, buyers gain access to a searchable CD-ROM from which they learn the latest coding information, updates and changes.
The Indiana Dental Association provides a link to the ADA catalog, through which a visitor can purchase coding products that include the procedure codes, books, the code companion training and help manual, and the Code Check app. These products can also be obtained by calling the American Dental Member Service Center.
The Code Check app, available for purchase as of October 1, 2015 for iOS and Android mobile devices, contains a searchable database of codes for 2014 and 2015, a list of deleted and revised codes, and a favorites section in which to store codes that are frequently used. The training manual teaches a dental staff how to code claims accurately so that they can be submitted for reimbursement quickly. It contains over 150 questions and answers as well as exercises in coding and quizzes.
Additional coding information is available, as of January 2015, from Delta Dental of Washington at DeltaDentalWa.com. This site provides a five-page list of code-change summaries. It has free information about new, revised and deleted codes.
