Does Knox Gelatin Ease Arthritis?

Some people believe that the collagen contained in gelatin can strengthen joints affected by arthritis, but there is insufficient evidence to suggest that consuming gelatin can ease arthritis pain as of 2015, according to WebMD. Gelatin is a protein derived from animal products.

Although gelatin contains collagen, which is present in cartilage and bone, it does not travel through the body intact and instead is broken down into its various components, such as amino acids, which are distributed for use by tissues, enzymes and a range of biological processes, explains Arthritis Today. Gelatin is also used for weight loss, osteoporosis, strengthening fingernails and improving hair quality, but more evidence is required before the effectiveness of gelatin for these uses can be assessed, says WebMD.
