Since the Total Gym is a home workout that requires no additional equipment, the only workout instructions you'll need are the specific exercises you should complete to reach your fitness goals. If you're new to working out, the Total Gym offers set of instructions for a "Starter" circuit training workout. There is also a work-along 6–8 minute instructional video you can follow while learning to use the Total Gym.
As you become more familiar with the Total Gym, you can select training guides for area-specific workouts like arms, shoulders, and abs. The workouts are designed to use different Total Gym exercise combinations for six consecutive days. The Total Gym also offers a workout tailored for women and one for men.
In addition to the standard Total Gym workouts, Todd Durkin, an internationally recognized performance coach, has created intense body workouts on three DVDs.
