Instaflex is a dietary supplement that helps promote joint comfort through the actions of chemicals in its eight naturally occurring ingredients. While there is proof of the effectiveness of individual components, the manufacturer warns that Instaflex is not FDA approved and not designed to treat, cure or prevent any disease.
The main ingredient of Instafllex is glucosamine sulfate, a naturally occurring chemical in the fluid around human joints that can be manufactured from shellfish. Glucosamine helps produce chemicals that build and repair tendons, ligaments and cartilage, according to WebMD.
Instaflex has five key ingredients that offer proven pain relief, according to WebMD. Methylsulfonlylmethane, a chemical found in plants and animals, can reduce the pain of arthritis of the knee and prevent muscle damage caused by exercise. White willow bark extract, salicin, works like aspirin and is effective in reducing lower back pain. Ginger root concentrate can reduce the pain of osteoarthritis, especially when combined with glucosamine. Extract from boswellia serrata, a frankincense tree, can decrease inflammation and joint pain. Finally, turmeric root extract is known to reduce swelling and provide relief from the pain of osteoarthritis.
Instaflex's two remaining ingredients include cayenne, which contains capsaicin that provides pain relief when applied externally. The other ingredient is hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring lubricant found in human bodies and rooster combs that is approved by the FDA for injection directly into the joint to ease stiffness, according to WebMD.
