Baystate Medical Center is part of Baystate Health, a not-for-profit health system that states that it serves about 750,000 residents of western Massachusetts. The doctors affiliated with its heart and vascular program perform 80 percent of heart surgeries in western Massachusetts, and the center ranks in the top 10 percent of hospitals for heart-attack care in the United States.
Cleveland Clinic's Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute has been rated one of the top heart-care providers in the United States since 1974 and was ranked one of the country's best hospitals for cardiology and heart surgery in 2015 by U.S. News and World Report. It is the largest group cardiology practice in the United States, Cleveland Clinic explains.
Sequoia Hospital's Heart and Vascular Institute, which entered into a partnership with Cleveland Clinic and Dignity Health in March 2015, is also among the top performers in the nation in cardiac care. It has been in the 100th percentile for aortic-valve surgery survival and mitral-valve replacement survival since 2010. The institute's doctors also perform a much higher number of complex heart surgeries than the national average with no concomitant increase in patient mortality, reports Dignity Health.Learn more about Cardiac Health
