A healthy lunch should consist of healthy fats, protein and carbohydrates. A lunch that includes greens and protein is healthy as well. An example of this is a salad with mixed greens and grilled chicken.
Since the daily recommended number of servings for vegetables is five and the suggested servings per day for fruits is four, it is best to include some of these servings in lunch. A raw fruit after the main lunch meal, steamed vegetables, or a salad with a few servings of veggies is ideal. Lean meats such as fish and turkey prepared with a small amount of fat and a serving of steamed vegetables on the side constitutes a healthy lunch as well.
