A traditional grapefruit diet menu includes a breakfast of two boiled eggs, two slices of bacon and half a grapefruit with no sugar added. For lunch, dieters eat meat and salad, again with half an unsweetened grapefruit. Dinner is another half a grapefruit with salad, meat or fish, and a cup of coffee or tea. The diet also permits an 8-ounce cup of skim milk before bed.
