To eat beans, a patient should have them together with salads, chili, soups, among other foods, and eat one variety for a week before then switching to another type.
Dairy foods such as milk, yogurt and cottage cheese contain calcium and vitamin D, which help control diabetes. A patient should substitute sugary juices with milk and have yogurt and cottage cheese as snacks, as advised by Prevention.
