Low-impact aerobic exercises, stretching and resistance training can all help alleviate hip pain, according to WebMD. Swimming and water aerobics are particularly useful for reducing hip pain, says Everyday Health.
Another exercise useful for reducing hip pain is the bridge exercise, advises Everyday Health. To perform this exercise, lie on your back with your feet planted on the floor. Raise your lower body by pressing the floor with your feet, which should be hip distance apart, to create a sort of slanted "bridge" with your body. As you raise your lower body, tighten your abdominal muscles. Maintain the top position for three to five seconds without arching your back, then slowly move your buttocks back to the floor. Repeat in sets of 10.
