Fruits are good choices when seeking out good carbs for type 2 diabetes, explains WebMD. These include fresh fruit, low-sugar or sugar-free jam and jelly, no-sugar-added applesauce, and 100 percent fruit juice. Bad fruit choices include canned fruit in syrup, sweetened applesauce, chewy fruit rolls, and regular jam or jelly. Dairy products also have carbs, and there are good choices for those with type 2 diabetes such as skim milk, low-fat yogurt, low-fat cottage cheese and nonfat half-and-half. Bad dairy choices include whole milk, regular ice cream, regular yogurt and regular half-and-half.
