Where Is Gallbladder Pain Felt?

Gallbladder pain is felt throughout the abdominal area, with pain extending to underneath the right shoulder blade and back, states Everyday Health. Pain often increases in intensity with deep breaths and can range from sharp stabbing pains to dull cramps.

Gallbladder issues may also cause chest pain, notes Everyday Health. The consumption of fatty or greasy foods such as tacos, French fries and pizza can trigger or worsen existing gallbladder pain. Tenderness in the upper-right abdominal area and heartburn are also pain-related symptoms associated with the gallbladder.

Gallbladder pain often occurs suddenly and can even mimic a heart attack, adds the Digestive Disease Center. Prompt medical attention is advised to rule out heart-related issues.
