Meat, poultry and seafood are foods with zero carbohydrates. Foods that contain only protein, fat or both are free of carbohydrates. Plant-based oils and other pure fats like butter or margarine are also carbohydrate-free foods.
Meats such as beef, lamb, chicken and pork do not contain any carbohydrates. However, organs such as liver contain 5 percent carbohydrates. Fish and seafood like salmon, trout and sardines are also free of carbohydrates. Oils like extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil and even butter are zero carbohydrate foods. Always check food packaging to ensure that no carbohydrates are added in the packing process.
