Foods for a Type A blood diet include lots of fish, including cold water, fatty fish such as salmon, cod and mackerel, says SFGate. Other fish that are good for a person with Type A blood are red snapper and rainbow trout.
Poultry is also good to have twice a week, claims SFGate, but a person with Type A blood should avoid shellfish and all red meat, including beef and game. Dairy products and eggs should not be eaten, though the person is allowed yogurt, goat cheese or kefir once in a while. Kefir is a fermented milk product, says Livescience.
The Type A blood diet should be abundant in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and some types of nuts, seeds, legumes and beans, says SFGate. Olive and flaxseed oils are preferable for cooking.
