Robin further adds that apples, pears and prunes are high in soluble fiber, which has been linked with preventing ulcers. Mother Earth Living claims that fiber and zinc repair tissue, and these nutrients can heal ulcers. Cherries and peppers are rich in antioxidants, eliminating harmful microbes and repairing DNA in the body. Flavonoids, which are plant-based nutrients, prevent the spread of bacteria that lead to ulcers. Probiotic foods in the form of yogurt combat the amount of harmful bacteria in the intestines. Mother Earth Living also mentions that leafy vegetables, such as cabbage, can heal ulcer damage through vitamin K and alleviate blood clots.
