For people who are type B, the Eat Right 4 Your Type diet includes green vegetables, eggs, low-fat dairy products and specific types of meat, such as goat, mutton, venison, lamb and rabbit. Foods to avoid include wheat, corn, sesame seeds, tomatoes and lentils.
The recommended foods are supposed to encourage weight loss, while the foods to avoid cause a drop in blood sugar, which results in fatigue and fluid retention. Chicken is not recommended because it contains an agglutinating lectin that can lead to strokes and immune disorders.
The Eat Right 4 Your Type diet plan bases physical activity recommendations on the dieter's blood type. Type B dieters should choose exercise that is physically and mentally challenging, such as martial arts, golf or tennis.
The diet is likely to cause weight loss due to its food restrictions, but the weight loss hasn't been linked to blood type. Since the diet is based only on blood type, it doesn't allow the dieter flexibility to choose foods based on his tastes. It also doesn't address conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure or diabetes.
The creator of the Eat Right 4 Your Type diet, Dr. D'Adamo, sells supplements related to the diet.
