According to WebMD, the Fat Smash diet is a diet plan devised by Ian K. Smith, MD, in order to smash bad habits and develop healthy lifestyle changes. This diet program is composed of four phases and lasts for 90 days.
WebMD explains that the first phase involves a vegetarian detox that lasts for nine days. Some of the foods that are prohibited include meat, fish, alcohol and pasta. The foundation phase is less strict; the dieter can eat fish, meats, fats and healthy grains. Additionally, the exercise increases in duration during this phase.
Next, the construction phase involves an increase in the variety of foods in order to improve the focus on portion control. During the last phase, called "the Temple," the dieter keeps adding more foods and should get back on track in case of any slip-ups.
