Exercise your arms, legs and back with soup cans to increase muscle strength and improve muscle tone. Make your own weights for your ankles and wrists with pieces of fabric filled with rice, sand or similar heavy materials.
- Tone your triceps
Hold a soup can in each hand. Place your hands behind your head. Position your elbows near your ears. Lift your arms up and down. Do three sets of this exercise.
- Work on your arms
Use a single soup can for this one. Hold a can with both your hands. Stretch your arms out straight in front of you. Pull your arms back towards you. Repeat the exercise for three sets.
- Strengthen your legs
Tie two soup cans on either side of each leg. Stand straight with your feet together. Lift one leg up in the air. Hold your position for a few seconds. Lower your leg. Repeat the process with the other leg. Ensure that you maintain your balance during this exercise. Do two sets of this exercise initially. Gradually increase the number of sets as you go along.
- Tone up the back of your legs
Use a floor mat for this exercise or use your bed. Lie down on the mat and roll over. Lift a can with the back of your legs. Do two sets of the exercise. Increase the repetitions when you get used to doing two sets.
