Planning and preparation are paramount to a successful detoxification process and should include careful consideration of timing, consuming more water, more frequent exercise, choosing an appropriate detoxification program and planning a detoxification menu. Without sufficient planning, going through detoxification may cause headaches, fatigue, dizziness, sinus congestion and nausea.
The most optimum time to conduct a detox is when stress levels are low. If this is not feasible, it is ideal to plan the midpoint of the process to occur on a weekend or at a time of low activity. Avoiding cold weather extremes is also preferred.
Many illnesses result from dehydration, so consuming 3 quarts to 1 gallon of water each day is recommended. Doing so helps purify cells and cleanse the body.
