Dietitians promote healthy eating, disease prevention and treatment of illnesses. A dietitian also coaches people on how to read food labels, shop for groceries and prepare meals and snacks. They must remain informed with regard to the most recent nutrition research and findings, and they must prepare reports to document their activities with patients and record their patients' progresses.
Dietitians work in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, cafeterias, schools, health and wellness centers, outpatient clinics and workout gyms.
