Vegetables to incorporate in this diet include asparagus, beets, broccoli and kale, while sauerkraut, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, yams and artichokes should be avoided.
Lean cuts of meat, fish and poultry are an acceptable part of this diet, while bacon, lunch meats, cheese, hot dogs and pepperoni are not. Fruits such as apples, grapefruits, watermelons, blueberries and cherries are recommended, as reported by DaVita. However, avocados, bananas, cantaloupe, raisins and orange juice are not a good inclusion in this diet.
