WGN Morning News traffic reporter Erin McElroy and meteorologist Demetrius Ivory were married in Chicago on Dec. 21, 2014. After a 24-hour honeymoon, the two returned to their respective early-morning TV posts.
As of 2015, both the bride and groom work together from 4 to 6 a.m. weekdays on Tribune Broadcasting WGN-Channel 9. Ivory said that they spent their mini-honeymoon in Mission Avenue and "slept till 9:30."
According to the couple's wedding photographer Amy Aiello, the couple chose Salvage One as their ceremony and reception location for its simplicity. Fleur decorated the tables with baby’s breath and candles. The altar and head table were decorated with larger vases with hydrangeas and candles.
McElroy, who has a son, 9, and a daughter, 7, claims she has been enjoying married life with her family in outings to museums, parades and baseball games. She joined WGN Morning News in 2011, covering traffic as well as live and breaking news. Previously, McElroy worked as a per-diem general assignment reporter for WGN News for two years.
Ivory joined the WGN-TV Weather Center team as a meteorologist in 2013. Previously, Ivory worked as a meteorologist and weather reporter for Channel 4 Action News This Morning at WTAE in Pittsburgh.
