The author of the series, Marla Heller, is a registered dietitian with experience working as a dietitian for the U.S. Department of Human Services and the U.S. Navy. She wrote the DASH diet books to increase awareness of the diet and make it easier to follow the DASH eating plan. Heller wrote "The Everyday DASH Diet Cookbook" in conjunction with cookbook writer Rick Rodgers.
