Eczema is a skin condition associated with intense itching for which there is no known cure, according to the National Eczema Association. Although a cure is not available, there are methods of managing eczema, including using medications and giving special attention to bathing and moisturizing techniques.
The National Eczema Association reports that dry, sensitive skin is common with eczema. To help minimize damage to the skin from scratching, experts advise keeping fingernails closely trimmed. Another way of managing this condition is to avoid eczema triggers, which can include exposure to irritants, allergens, hot or cold temperatures, certain foods and stress.
