Curamin is the brand name for a pain reliever and nutritional supplement derived from curcumin, a component of the spice turmeric. A nutritional supplement company in Wisconsin called EuroPharma manufactures Curamin.
Curamin by EuroPharma has been on the market since 2007. Curamin's formula is designed to deliver 10 times more of the beneficial ingredients in curcumin over a longer period of time, claims to the company's website.
Turmeric is an important spice in traditional Indian curries, but its oil and other components are also ingredients in perfumes and a variety of health-related products, says WebMD. As of 2015 there is little research to prove or disprove its efficacy in pain relief, but there is some evidence to suggest that it behaves as an anti-inflammatory. There is also evidence to suggest that curcumin causes blood clotting to slow and that it potentially interacts poorly with some medications.
