Users have experienced dizziness, abdominal pains and stomach pains after taking AdvoCare's amino acid supplement, reports Summer Banks for Diet Spotlight. The National Institute for Fitness and Sport cautions that AdvoCare's "24-Day Challenge" involves taking laxatives and can induce electrolyte imbalance, potentially leading to serious complications such as heart attack.
Banks also notes some users report gaining, rather than losing, weight. Registered nurse Katy Haldiman for Primal Docs warns that several of the ingredients in AdvoCare's Spark Energy appear to be low quality and some, such as sucralose, can be toxic. AdvoCare's dietary and training programs involve energy drinks, which Haldiman considers highly unsound. AdvoCare is an American multilevel marketing company selling weight loss, nutrition and skin care products.
