Prescription color contacts can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism while changing the wearer's eye color. Plano color contacts do not affect vision and are strictly for cosmetic purposes.
Those with light-colored eyes normally use enhancement tint lenses to make the color of their eyes more intense. However, those with dark-colored eyes need opaque tent to cover up the current color of their eyes and change the eye color. Theatrical contact lenses are used to create special effects, like red eyes, alien eyes or other designs.
