What Is Clavaseptin Used For?

Clavaseptin is used for treating skin infections in cats and dental infections in dogs. The drug is a combination of amoxicillin, clavulanic acid and a beta-lactose inhibitor.

Clavaseptin is for veterinary use only and is prescribed for treating gingivitis associated with periodontal infections in dogs. It is also used for treating soft tissue infections caused by bacteria susceptible strains in cats.

Clavaseptin is not recommended for pets with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin. A veterinary doctor prescribes the right dosage of Clavaseptin based on the body weight of the pet. Some of the side effects of the drug may include vomiting and diarrhea.
