A misogynist may choose a specific woman as his target, and as time passes, he reveals a personality that quickly changes from charming to rude and back to charming, Psychology Today states. He has an arrogant, controlling attitude toward women and may humiliate women in public.
Other misogynistic traits include cheating on female partners, controlling women sexually and feeling terrible when a woman outperforms him socially or professionally. When misogynists treat women badly, they unconsciously feel good, claims Psychology Today. This is because a release of dopamine, also known as the pleasure chemical, follows the hurtful behavior, which makes the misogynist feel the need to repeat hurtful behaviors to get this same feeling of pleasure.
