As of 2015, prolozone treatment doctors are available at New Jersey Sports Medicine and through GetProlo.com, according to their websites. At GetProlo.com, patients search for prolozone practitioners by state, city or physician name and access a separate page for each doctor.
Located in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, all of the physicians at New Jersey Sports Medicine have board certifications in physical medicine and rehabilitation, and two of the physicians are certified in the pain and sports medicine subspecialty, according to the practice's website. The physicians offer prolozone therapy for joint and musculoskeletal pain, including rotator cuff injuries and chronic neck, shoulder and elbow pain. There is about a 75 percent chance of a patient obtaining permanent pain relief because the therapy corrects the disorder's pathology.
Dr. Frank Shallenberger developed prolozone, which is modified prolotherapy. During the noninvasive treatment, a physician injects a mixture of oxygen and ozone gases directly into painful areas, such as joints, to stimulate the body's healing process, according to the Foundation for Alternative and Integrative Medicine.
