Perform some type of cardiovascular exercise every day. This can be as simple as going for a walk or jog in the park, or swimming and bicycling if you have access to a free pool or bicycle. One hour of vigorous exercise a day can help you lose approximately 1 pound every week.
Eat more fruits and vegetables. Make sure you drink plenty of water every day. Try to cut out any added sugars or starches from your diet. By doing this, you will be able to cut calories from your daily intake. If you are running a large caloric deficit, you will lose weight very quickly. Approximately 1 pound is lost for every net loss of 3,500 calories, so you will need to run a deficit of about 175,000 calories over several months to burn 50 pounds.
Write down all of the foods that you eat every day. Not only will this make you feel more accountable for your diet, it will also help you keep track of your weight loss progress and goals. If you are not losing weight as quickly as you would like, refer back to the journal and look for dietary trends that need to be corrected.
