Eating a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables and drinking plenty of water helps nourish the body and restore hair. The balanced diet should include all recommended nutrients.
Treat the roots of the hair with coconut, olive, almond or castor oil, gently massaging the oil into the scalp and leaving it on for at least two hours. Essential oils, such as lavender, tea tree and rosemary, are also great for restoring damaged hair follicles. Use diluted essential oils directly on scalp, or add a few drops to a nourishing hair pack.
A hair mask using ingredients found in the kitchen is another type of topical treatment. Mix the pulp of a banana and an avocado, rub the mixture on the scalp, and leave on for 30 minutes. The mask restores moisture to dry hair follicles. As an alternative, whip an egg with a spoon of lukewarm water and honey. Massage it into the hair and scalp, and wash it out with shampoo after 30 minutes. This can be done on dry and wet hair.Learn more about Conditions & Diseases
