As long as a serving contains 15 grams of carbohydrates, the effect on blood sugar is the same regardless of the amount consumed. Suggested serving sizes are one small piece of fruit, 1/2 cup frozen or canned fruit or 2 tablespoons dried fruit, according to the American Diabetes Association .
