Free potassium food charts are available for download from the websites for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and the Southwest Kidney Institute's Kidney Education Center. The documents display the potassium content for a variety of foods across different food groups.
The United States Department of Veterans Affairs provides a fairly comprehensive document that covers the major food groups of vegetables, fruits, grains, dairy and protein foods. It also offers a section for other foods such as pretzels, beer, chocolate bars, potato chips and trail mix. The Southwest Kidney Institute's Kidney Education Center provides a slightly less extensive document that allocates the information into food divisions of beverages, fruits, and vegetables and starches.
