During the weight-control study, the researchers advised the participants about managing diabetes properly and choosing foods that contain good unsaturated fats, explains WebMD. The study involved 140 overweight diabetics who were categorized into a low-egg group that consumed less than two eggs per week and a high-egg group that added two eggs daily to breakfast meals for six days each week.
After three months, the study revealed that cholesterol levels between the two groups were not significantly different, notes WebMD. However, the high-egg group participants experienced improvement in their good cholesterol levels, less hunger, better fullness and more satisfaction with meals.
