Plexus is a multilevel marketing company, so its products are not sold directly in retail stores and must be purchased through affiliated salespeople called ambassadors. Multilevel marketing is sometimes referred to in a negative way as a pyramid scheme, since salespeople get paid more by pulling others into the business.
Plexus ambassadors host their own websites and usually attempt to generate their own direct sales. The central Plexus website has a search engine for finding individual ambassadors by their name and state or their seller ID number.
Some ambassadors list their products on e-commerce sites such as Amazon.com and eBay. As of February 2015, Plexus Bio Cleanse is listed on Amazon.com and sold by a number of third-party sellers. There are also numerous sellers of the full Plexus Slim product line on eBay. Several sellers also carry Plexus products on Bonanza.
Plexus ambassadors purchase products directly from the company and re-sell them. Anyone can purchase these products from Plexus, but an additional fee of $35 per year is required to purchase the company's products at a wholesale price. Ambassadors are encouraged to create teams of other ambassadors to work under them, and this is part of the criteria to rise in the Plexus ranks and earn more money on sales.
