A blood pressure chart provided by the American Heart Association can be found at Heart.org. The chart, which applies to both men and women, shows the five categories of blood pressure levels and the corresponding systolic and diastolic numbers.
A normal blood pressure level has a systolic number (the upper number) of less than 120 and a diastolic number (the lower number) of less than 80, according to the American Heart Association. The chart also lists the systolic and diastolic numbers for pre-hypertension, stage one of hypertension, stage two of hypertension, and a hypertensive crisis that requires emergency care. Usually a doctor takes multiple blood pressure readings over a period of time to determine if the patient suffers from one of these stages of high blood pressure.
