Of the two directories featured on NCCAOM's website, the Find a Practitioner index is the most relevant choice for individuals who wish to purchase acupuncture services. The NCCAOM Registry is designed for state licensing agencies and insurance companies to determine whether a particular acupuncture practitioner is certified by the NCCAOM. To use the NCCAOM practitioner index, input the city, state or zip code that you would like to receive results for, and mark the Acupuncture box to specify only practitioners that offer acupuncture services as opposed to oriental medicine, Chinese herbology or Asian bodywork therapy.

To use the patient referral directory of the AAMA, choose a state for the engine to conduct a search in and narrow your results based on the specialties listed therein. The AAMA directory provides the name, address phone number and specific area of focus for each of its members. The directory also lists the member's business website when applicable.
