The Blacklight Run is a 5-kilometer run with ultraviolet neon lights. It centers less on running and more on glowing fun with family and friends. The Blacklight Run is a 3-mile course open to people of all shapes, ages and sizes.
Runners start the race wearing a plain white shirt and end it covered in green-, pink- and orange-colored ultraviolet neon powder. When a person reaches one of the many Black Light zones during the run, others shower him in UV powder that glows.
The Blacklight Run dedicates its races to childhood cancer awareness. It works with the Children's Miracle network and supports the Phoenix Children's Hospital.
