Men should begin receiving yearly physical examinations around the age of 50 unless they have conditions or take medications that require them to begin doing so sooner, according to Duke Medicine. They should also begin receiving colonoscopies around this age.
As a general rule, both men and women between the ages of 30 and 40 should receive physicals every two years, notes Duke Medicine. Healthy individuals below the age of 30 should schedule a physical every two to three years. Doctors may recommend that people in these age groups receive examinations more frequently if they smoke, take certain medications or have risk factors that make them more prone to disease.
