What Are Some Activities at Maryland Farms YMCA?

The Maryland Farms YMCA offers several sports and recreation programs, including swimming, tennis and boot camp. It also offers classes in health and wellness, group exercise, and personal development.

The recreational facilities at Maryland Farms YMCA allow members to work out and get expert fitness advice from certified personal trainers. Alternatively, members can participate in any of the group classes offered for low-impact exercises, tennis, Pilates and yoga. Adults interested in more intense workouts can opt for a single day or multiple sessions of boot camp. Boot camp activities range from cardio runs and interval training to workouts using ropes and suspension training systems.

Many of the Maryland Farms YMCA's activities also cater to younger visitors. Throughout the summer, YMCA day camps allow children ages 5 through 12 to try out sport and other activities and form new friendships. Before- and after-school programs run year round, as do lessons for art, dance, ballet, music and swimming. Additionally, teenagers learn practical skills though the YMCA's certification courses in CPR, life-guarding and babysitting.

Maryland Farms YMCA also provides community enrichment activities. Individuals participate in free support groups for breast cancer patients and survivors, lifestyle management and prevention groups for diabetics, and group ministries.
