What Are White Pages?

White pages are the section of a telephone directory that lists residential and business numbers. Subscribers are registered in alphabetical order in the white pages. Street addresses and ZIP codes are also normally included.

The phone book is divided into white pages and yellow pages. White pages are non-commercial and free of advertisement. Yellow pages are for advertising organizations and businesses.

A section of the white pages is set aside for business listings. The same businesses found in the yellow pages are recorded in this section in alphabetical order with only the business name, phone number and address. Businesses that are not included in the yellow pages are also listed in this section.
