One of the deadliest schools shootings in recent history is the one that occurred at Virginia Tech College in Blacksburg, Virginia. Other deadly school shootings include the ones that occurred at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, and Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut.
On April 16, 2007, student Seung-Hui Cho shot and killed 33 students and faculty members on the Virginia Tech campus. He injured 23 additional people during two on-campus attacks. The shooting spree ended when Cho shot himself, taking his own life.
On April 20, 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, both students at Columbine High School, shot and killed 12 students and one teacher before killing themselves during what was to be a regular school day. Twenty-one other people were injured by the boys during this deadly rampage.
On Dec. 14, 2012, Adam Lanza entered Sandy Hook Elementary School and shot and killed 20 children and six adults. He ended his tirade by killing himself.
In addition, a deadly school shooting occurred on the Umpqua Community College Campus. On Oct. 1, 2015, Christopher Harper-Mercer shot and killed eight students and one teacher. He injured at least 20 others on campus before turning the gun on himself and ending his own life..
