There is currently no way to contact the Iranian Embassy in Canada, as the Canadian government closed the embassy on September 7, 2012. The Canadian government gave Iranian diplomats five days to vacate the embassy.
Upon the closing of the embassy, Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, John Baird, stated that diplomatic relations had ceased. Ottawa and Iran had poor relations prior to the closure of the embassy, due to Iran's hostility toward Israel, an ally of Canada. Baird mentioned Iran's nuclear program and assistance to the Syrian military as reasons why the diplomatic relationship between Iran and Canada were suspended. Baird also stated that Tehran was the largest threat to global security.
