Notices outlining the current pay ranges for physicians and dentists employed by the VA are published in the Federal Register, the Daily Journal of the United States Government, and can be viewed at federalregister.gov.
The VA was created in 1930 when President Hoover signed into law an executive order elevating the Veterans Bureau to a federal administration. The Veterans Bureau was created to help administer benefits to soldiers following World War I. The VA is comprised of three subdivisions: the Veterans Health Administration, the Veterans Benefits Administration and the National Cemetery Administration.
