The Federal Bureau of Prisons provides an inmate locator with which you can locate inmate by number or by name. If you choose to search for a federal inmate by number, you can use the Bureau of Prisons Register Number, District of Columbia Department of Corrections inmate number, FBI number or Immigration and Naturalization Service number. If you would like to locate a federal inmate by name, click on the Find By Name tab and enter the inmate?s name. You can further filter your search results by selecting race, age and/or sex.

The Michigan Department of Corrections has an online inmate locator, and to use this locator you must first agree to the use conditions. You can then locate an inmate by name or inmate number. You can enter a partial last name into the Michigan Department of Corrections locator. You can also limit a location search by offender status, such as active offender, prisoner, parolee, probationer, discharged or absconder.
