What Are Some Typical Navy Salaries?

As of Jan. 1, 2015, the salaries for enlisted Naval personnel range from between $1,546.80 per month for an E1 with less than two years of service to $2,580.60 per month for an E5 with four years of service. Pay for Naval officers is between $2,934.30 and $7,242.90 per month.

All members of the military also are eligible to receive a basic allowance for subsistence. The BAS is a non-taxable allowance that covers a portion of the cost of subsistence; to do this the BAS offsets meal costs. The Department of Agriculture adjusts the BAS rate each year using the USDA's food-cost index. For 2015, the BAS for enlisted service members is $367.92 per month, and the BAS for officers is $253.38.
