Oxfam is an organization whose primary goal is to find solutions to poverty and injustice around the world. It is an international confederation of 17 organizations working together with partners and communities in over 90 countries.
Oxfam perceives poverty as an injustice that demands a response to address both its causes and its impact on peoples' lives. It seeks to find practical and innovative ways for people to lift themselves out of poverty resulting from political or religious oppression, humanitarian emergencies or natural disasters. The organization was founded in England during World War II to provide humanitarian and other relief to war victims in Europe.
