Individuals can find Texas Department of Criminal Justice inmates who made parole by calling the offender parole release status line at 512-406-5202. Callers must have either the TDCJ or SID number of the inmate or the inmate's exact date of birth to receive information.
As of April 2015, the offender parole release status line is open to callers Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Information available via this line is only updated once the inmate has been voted to be released by the Board of Pardons and Paroles. Individuals looking for information on other inmates can call the offender parole review status line at 844-512-0461.
The Board of Pardons and Parole considers up to eight main factors when voting on whether or not an inmate qualifies for early release. These factors include the inmate's criminal history, the nature of the offense committed, whether the offense involved drugs or alcohol, and how well the inmate adjusted to incarceration. Any successful periods of supervision, participation in specialized programs, the amount of time the inmate served, and whether the inmate incurred any felony offenses during incarceration. The parole board also has the discretion to vote not to release an inmate if the inmate's release could endanger the public or if the inmate does not show potential for rehabilitation.
