Clinton is the first First Lady of Arkansas to continue working while her husband was Governor. She is the only First Spouse to be subpoenaed, and she and her husband are the first presidential couple to be fingerprinted.

Clinton says she wanted to be a baseball player, an astronaut and a journalist at points during her youth. When she inquired about becoming an astronaut, NASA informed her that they did not admit women into the program. She once tried to become a U.S. Marine and also worked at a salmon cannery in Alaska.
