You may file a claim online if, during the last 18 months, all of your work was in New Jersey, you did not work for the federal government, you did not serve in the military, and you did not work as a maritime employee. In addition, you must reside in the United States. If you do not meet any of these requirements, you must submit a claim by telephone. Special rules apply to some claimants, such as those who worked in another state while living in New Jersey or claimants wanting to file claims against New Jersey after moving to another state.
